Available Configurations

Mate-AX Male to Dual SMA Male Cable
Connection Structure: One 2306498-1 dual cavity Mate-AX male connector, A Code, connected to two straight SMA-J2-3 male connectors.
Unique Difference: Both SMA branches have coupling nuts and center pins for connection to SMA female ports.
Suitable Installation: Direct cable connections where the equipment presents a mating Mate-AX female interface and the two destination ports are SMA female.
Mate-AX Male to Dual SMA Female Cable
Connection Structure: One 2306498-1 dual cavity Mate-AX male connector, A Code, connected to two straight SMA-KY-2 female connectors.
Unique Difference: The SMA ends have external threads, center sockets and mounting nuts, allowing the branches to terminate at an enclosure panel.
Suitable Installation: Test boxes requiring a Mate-AX male connection internally and two accessible SMA female connection points externally.

Mate-AX Female to Dual SMA Male Cable
Connection Structure: One 2-2306868-9 dual cavity Mate-AX female connector, Z Code, connected to two straight SMA-J2-3 male connectors.
Unique Difference: Provides a female Mate-AX mating interface while retaining SMA male terminations for direct connection to SMA female instruments or adapters.
Suitable Installation: Bench arrangements with a mating Mate-AX male port and two nearby SMA female destinations.
Mate-AX Female to Dual SMA Female Cable
Connection Structure: One 2-2306868-9 dual cavity Mate-AX female connector, Z Code, connected to two straight SMA-KY-2 female connectors.
Unique Difference: Combines the female Mate-AX interface with two SMA female panel connection points.
Suitable Installation: Fixture panels that connect to Mate-AX male hardware and use detachable SMA male test leads on the operator side.

Applications & Customer Value
Automotive Development Benches
Development teams may need to connect vehicle hardware to existing laboratory cabling. The assembly provides an interface transition so engineers can incorporate SMA based connections into the bench layout, subject to electrical requirements.
Independent Channel Evaluation
During channel evaluation, engineers need separate access to each connection path. Individually accessible branches allow each channel to be connected, disconnected and recorded separately.
Enclosure Interface Panels
Repeated access inside a test enclosure can interrupt setup work. SMA female versions allow connection points to be positioned at the panel, making external cable changes accessible.
Prototype Harness Integration
Prototype layouts often change as component positions are refined. Selecting a suitable listed length helps match the harness to the routing path and limit unnecessary cable loops.
Product Features
Dual Cavity Connector Packaging
The Mate-AX housing groups two separate coaxial contact positions within one compact connector body. Each position connects through its own dedicated cable branch to an individual SMA termination.
Distinct Mating Interfaces
The supplied versions use 2306498-1 male A Code and 2-2306868-9 female Z Code interfaces. Gender and coding are separate selection criteria and must both be checked against the mating connector.
Threaded SMA Terminations
The SMA male version uses an internally threaded coupling nut and center pin. The female version uses an externally threaded body and center socket; the pictured mounting hardware supports bulkhead installation.
Individual Coaxial Branch Construction
Two FDC402 coaxial cable branches form the connection paths. The illustrated construction provides separate terminations rather than an active conversion circuit or a signal power divider.
Customization Capabilities
Premier Cable supports:
Connector Customization
Connector type, gender, coding and housing arrangements can be reviewed against the mating connector drawings. Alternative combinations require confirmation of mechanical fit and termination suitability.
Cable Customization
Cable length, jacket material, shielding construction and branch arrangement can be specified for the routing environment. Cable substitutions require review of connector termination dimensions and the required electrical characteristics.
Electrical Customization
Channel assignment, wiring definition and circuit configuration can be reviewed from the project drawing. Any resistance value or power rating requirement must be separately specified and evaluated; these are not established ratings or standard functions of the pictured assembly.
OEM Manufacturing
Drawing review, prototype preparation and mass production can be supported for an approved design. Project labels, branch identification and packaging can be defined to match purchasing and assembly requirements.
Product FAQ
Q1. Is a Mate-AX to dual SMA cable the same as an RF power splitter?
No. This assembly provides two separate coaxial connection paths. A power splitter divides one input signal between multiple outputs and requires a different circuit design.
Q2. Can the Mate-AX male and female versions be selected by housing color alone?
No. Use the connector reference, mating gender and coding to identify the required version. A connector face photograph or mating drawing should accompany the selection when the installed interface is uncertain.
Q3. Will this cable work with any automotive camera or SMA test instrument?
Connector fit alone does not establish application compatibility. The equipment interface, signal requirements, operating frequency and permitted cable loss must be checked before use. No specific camera protocol compatibility is confirmed in the supplied material.
Q4. What information is needed to confirm electrical suitability?
Provide the operating frequency range, required impedance, acceptable insertion loss and return loss, operating conditions and any power carried on the coaxial path. These requirements need to be evaluated for the selected cable length and connector combination.
Q5. What should be included in an OEM quotation request?
Specify the configuration number, overall length and measurement method, branch lengths, channel mapping, quantity and required delivery schedule. Include mating connector drawings and any labeling, inspection or packaging requirements.
