MATEnet Automotive Ethernet Connection Cable
This single-port MATEnet cable family provides a point-to-point connection solution for Automotive Ethernet networks, with three mating configurations available to match different ECU, module, vehicle harness, and test equipment interfaces.
Built with TE Connectivity MATEnet connectors and LEONI DACAR 647-4 cable, the series is available in female-to-female, male-to-male, and male-to-female configurations. This allows the mating direction to be selected according to the actual equipment interface rather than adapting the connection with additional intermediate cables.
The cable assemblies are suited to Automotive Ethernet development, ECU communication, network module integration, diagnostic setups, and laboratory validation where a compact single-channel data link is required.

Available Configurations

MATEnet Female to Female Cable
Same-Gender Interface Connection
Uses MATEnet female interfaces at both ends to provide a direct connection path between compatible male mating ports or intermediate vehicle interfaces.
The female-to-female configuration is particularly useful in development and test environments where two existing MATEnet interfaces require a purpose-built cable connection without changing the equipment-side connector arrangement.
MATEnet Male to Male Cable
Dual Male Mating Configuration
Terminates both ends with MATEnet male interfaces for connecting equipment, modules, or intermediate harnesses that provide corresponding female mating connections.
This version gives engineers a dedicated same-gender cable option when the network architecture requires male interfaces at both ends, avoiding unnecessary gender-changing adapters in the connection path.

MATEnet Male to Female Cable
Inline Extension & Interface Adaptation
Combines one MATEnet male interface with one MATEnet female interface, making it suitable for extending an existing MATEnet connection while maintaining the required mating relationship between the two ends.
The male to female architecture is particularly practical for ECU development, prototype harnesses, test benches, and temporary network extensions where the original interface direction needs to be preserved.
Typical Applications
Product Features
Three Mating Configurations
Female to female, male to male, and male to female options allow the same MATEnet cable family to accommodate different equipment-side and harness-side mating requirements.
Single Port Point to Point Architecture
Unlike multi port breakout harnesses, each cable provides one dedicated physical connection path between two MATEnet interfaces, making routing and interface identification straightforward.
Z Code MATEnet Interface
The 2302510-9 female configuration uses the MATEnet Z code mechanical interface, helping maintain the intended mating orientation with compatible MATEnet components. TE identifies 2302510-9 as a Z code, 2 position single-port frame.
DACAR 647-4 Cable Platform
LEONI DACAR 647-4 is used as the cable platform across the series, allowing the three connector configurations to share a consistent cable construction for Automotive Ethernet projects.
CORE BENEFITS
Match the Required Mating Direction
Three gender combinations make it easier to select the correct cable according to the existing ECU, module, or harness interface instead of modifying the equipment-side connection.
Reduce Intermediate Adapters
Selecting the correct male/female combination can eliminate additional gender-changing adapter connections, simplifying the physical network path.
Simplify Prototype Changes
Engineers can switch between different mating configurations while retaining the same MATEnet connection concept, which is useful when prototype hardware or test interfaces change during development.
Easier Single Channel Network Management
The point to point architecture keeps each Ethernet link physically independent, making individual connections easier to route, replace, and identify during development and validation.
Connection & Ordering Notes
MATEnet connector gender should be selected according to the actual mating interface, not only according to the appearance of the connector housing.
Before ordering, please confirm:
- Required configuration: Female to Female / Male to Male / Male to Female
- Mating connector gender on both devices
- MATEnet coding
- Required cable length
- Pin assignment / wiring definition
- Target ECU or network equipment
- Labeling requirements
- Prototype or production application
For custom projects, providing the mating connector part number, interface photo, or wiring drawing is recommended before production.
Product FAQ
Q1. What MATEnet connector combinations are available?
A1. Three configurations are available: MATEnet female to female, male to male, and male to female. The correct version should be selected according to the mating interfaces on the ECU, module, vehicle harness, or test equipment.
Q2. What is TE 2302510-9?
A2. TE Connectivity identifies 2302510-9 as a single-port MATEnet Z-code housing for female terminals. It has two positions, a 1.8 mm centerline, and a cable-to-board configuration.
Q3. Is TE 2302510-9 waterproof?
A3. No. TE specifies 2302510-9 as non-sealable. The cable should therefore not be marketed as IP67 or waterproof unless a separate sealing solution has been designed and validated for the complete assembly.
Q4. Can the cable be used for 1000BASE-T1 Automotive Ethernet?
A4. PCM's existing MATEnet assemblies using DACAR 647-4 are specified for 100BASE-T1 and 1000BASE-T1 applications. For a new project, the required network standard, cable length, and complete assembly performance should be confirmed before production.
Q5. Can the cable length and connector combination be customized?
A5. Yes. Cable length, MATEnet mating configuration, pin assignment, labeling, and other assembly requirements can be customized according to the target ECU, vehicle harness, or test equipment.
