PCM-ZC-0220 Waterproof MATEnet Automotive Ethernet Cable
The PCM-ZC-0220 Waterproof MATEnet Automotive Ethernet Cable is a high-speed MATEnet A Code female to female extension cable assembly designed for automotive data links, vehicle networking, and applications where the connector area requires enhanced sealing protection.
Both ends use the TE Connectivity 1802105-1 MATEnet A Code female connector. TE officially identifies the 1802105-1 as a sealable 1-port MATEnet housing for cable-to-board and cable-to-cable applications, featuring A coding, a 180° cable exit, housing for female terminals, and 100Ω impedance.
Compared with a conventional non-sealed MATEnet extension cable, the major design advantage is the sealable MATEnet architecture on both ends. When used with the correct mating interfaces, terminals, sealing components, cable, and assembly process, this design can provide enhanced protection against moisture, splash, dust, and automotive environmental contamination around the connector interface.
The cable assembly uses GG 2Speed 251 high-speed differential cable.
The direct pin mapping is:
P1 Pin 1 → White → P2 Pin 1
P1 Pin 2 → Green → P2 Pin 2
Shield → GND → Shield
This makes the product a passive MATEnet automotive high-speed data extension cable for extending compatible MATEnet A-Code links. It contains no PHY, Ethernet switch, SerDes converter, or protocol-conversion IC.

Product Features
Dual Sealable MATEnet Interfaces
Both P1 and P2 use TE 1802105-1 MATEnet A-Code female connectors with a sealable architecture. Compared with a single-ended sealed design, this configuration is better suited to automotive cable links where both connection points require environmental protection.
MATEnet A Code Female to Female Extension
Identical 1802105-1 interfaces on both ends provide a female-to-female physical link between compatible MATEnet devices, mating interfaces, or test systems for extension and validation applications.
100Ω Differential Architecture
The cable assembly uses a 100Ω nominal differential architecture, aligning with the 100Ω design of the TE MATEnet connectivity system and supporting controlled impedance continuity in high-speed automotive links.
Wide Automotive Temperature Range
The completed cable drawing specifies a -40°C to +105°C operating range, while TE also specifies -40°C to +105°C for the 1802105-1 connector, supporting automotive development, ECU testing, and vehicle electronics environments.

Core Performance Advantages
◆ Environmental Protection at Both Connection Points
The primary advantage is the use of 1802105-1 sealable MATEnet connectors on both ends rather than conventional open interfaces, providing a sealing foundation at both connection points along the extension link.
Why does this cable use two 1802105-1 connectors ?
It is a MATEnet female-to-female extension cable using identical sealed A-Code interfaces at both ends to extend a compatible high-speed data link.
What is the advantage of sealing at both ends ?
Dual-ended sealing provides an environmental-protection foundation at both connection points rather than only one end, which is especially useful for longer vehicle routes where both device interfaces may encounter moisture or splash.
Can 1m, 3m or 5m lengths be customized ?
Yes. Cable length can be adjusted according to equipment layout. Because this is a high-speed differential data cable, insertion loss, return loss, signal integrity, and the complete link budget should be revalidated when the length changes.
Can A Code be changed to another coding ?
A different coding requires selection according to the actual MATEnet P/N on the destination device. Housing color alone must not be changed because coding provides mechanical keying and must match the mating interface.
Is this a protocol-conversion cable ?
No. PCM-ZC-0220 is a passive cable assembly providing physical link extension and differential signal connectivity without a PHY, switch, or protocol-conversion IC.
