Available Configurations
HSD Female to Female
Both ends are the HSD D4K10A-1D5A5-Z female receptacle, with the water blue housing locking into a factory HSD male pigtail on either side. The wire order is crossed, 1 to 4, 2 to 3, 3 to 2, 4 to 1.
Use it as a pigtail extension when a factory HSD male pigtail on a reverse camera or head unit is too short. The female to female gender keeps both factory pigtails unchanged, and the crossed wire order matches the common reverse camera video pinout. The 0.1 m and 0.5 m lengths fit tight behind the head unit, while the 2 m and 3 m runs reach the trunk or tailgate camera.
HSD Male to Male
Both ends are the HSD D4K10A-1D5A5-Z male plug, clicking into a female HSD socket on either side. The wire order is crossed, 1 to 4, 2 to 3, 3 to 2, 4 to 1.
Use it when both devices on the link have female HSD sockets, such as two panel mounted female receptacles or a female ended display to a female head unit port. The male to male gender bridges two female sockets without an adapter, and the crossed wire order matches the reverse camera video path. The 0.1 m length is handy for tight bench pairing, and the 3 m length covers trunk to cabin runs.
HSD Female to Male
One end is the HSD female receptacle and the other end is the HSD male plug. The wire order is straight, 1 to 1, 2 to 2, 3 to 3, 4 to 4.
Use it as an inline adapter when one device has a male pigtail and the other has a female socket. The female end accepts a factory male pigtail, and the male end plugs into a female socket. The straight wire order is used when the video path does not need crossover, such as a display to head unit data link. The 0.1 m to 3 m range covers everything from a tight panel jump to a full trunk run.

Q1: What does the cable do?
It carries automotive video, RGB and LVDS signals, as well as high speed data, between HSD equipped devices such as head units, reverse cameras and displays. The 100 ohm shielded line keeps the signal stable.
