MATE-AX Dual Male to SMA Bulkhead Female Cable
Connection Structure: One MATE-AX dual cavity male interface with housing reference 2306498-9 connects to two straight SMA female terminations.
Unique Difference: Each SMA female end has an externally threaded body with a mounting nut and washer. This arrangement allows the connector to be secured through a panel opening.
Suitable Installation: Test fixture plates and enclosure walls that require two fixed SMA connection points. Panel thickness, hole dimensions and connector clearance must match the selected connector drawing.
MATE-AX Dual Male to SMA Straight Male Cable
Connection Structure: One MATE-AX dual cavity male interface with housing reference 2306498-9 connects to two straight SMA male terminations.
Unique Difference: The SMA ends have center pins and internally threaded coupling nuts for connection to corresponding SMA female interfaces.
Suitable Installation: Bench arrangements where the harness connects directly to SMA female test leads, adapters or equipment ports without fixing the SMA ends to a panel.

Applications & Customer Value
Extending Connections to the Exterior of the Test Enclosure
When an automotive module is placed inside a test fixture, accessing its connectors frequently can be highly inconvenient. By using bulkhead-mounted female SMA connectors, the SMA connection points can be brought out to an accessible panel, allowing external cables to be connected at the boundary of the test enclosure.
Interfacing with Existing SMA Test Cables
Laboratories often already have cables terminated with female SMA connectors. Using male SMA connectors allows for direct connection to these existing cables-eliminating the need for additional adapters and reducing the total number of connection points within the test system.
Channel Identification for Fixture Wiring
When branch labels are specified, each SMA end can be identified against its assigned MATE-AX position. This supports consistent connection records during fixture assembly and maintenance.
Decoupling Device Cabling from Fixture Layout
The physical placement of a module often does not align dimensionally with the layout of the test panel. By planning the routing of each cable based on the fixture's technical drawings, it is possible to bridge the distance between the module and the panel while preventing the accumulation of excess cabling in the immediate work area.
Product Features
Dual Cavity MATE-AX Housing
The male housing referenced to 2306498-9 groups two coaxial positions in one connector. It uses MATE-AX Z Code and a straight cable exit arrangement.
Two SMA Mounting Options
The female version includes nuts and washers for panel mounting, while the male version uses coupling nuts to connect to matching SMA female interfaces.
Separate RG174 Coaxial Paths
Two RG174 cables connect the MATE-AX positions to individual SMA ends. Each branch carries a separate connection path without dividing a single RF input.
Covered Rear Terminations
Black sleeves cover the transition between each SMA connector body and its cable. The threaded mating sections remain exposed for connection and disconnection.
Customization Capabilities
Premier Cable supports:
Connector and Panel Mounting Selection
Connector type, gender, coding and housing requirements can be reviewed against the equipment interface. For bulkhead versions, mounting geometry and available thread length are evaluated against the panel drawing.
Cable Length and Routing Structure
Overall length, individual cable lengths, jacket, shielding and cable structure can be specified for the fixture layout. Alternative cables require a review of connector termination compatibility.
Electrical Mapping and Channel Definition
Pin assignment and wiring definitions can establish the relationship between each MATE-AX position and SMA end. Circuit configuration, resistance value and power rating requirements are subject to engineering feasibility review.
OEM Drawing and Production Support
Drawing review, prototype preparation and mass production can follow the approved assembly specification. Channel labels, product identification and packaging can be defined for fixture assembly and purchasing requirements.
Product FAQ
Q1: Is this cable an RF splitter?
No. It brings two coaxial positions out to two individual SMA ends. It does not divide one RF input into two outputs.
Q2: Can the SMA female version mount through any panel?
Panel fit depends on connector dimensions, usable mounting thread and panel thickness. Confirm the mounting drawing before preparing panel openings.
Q3: Can this harness connect to any SMA equipped instrument?
Mechanical mating is only one requirement. The instrument interface, impedance, operating range and complete test path requirements must also be checked before use.
Q4: How should cable length be specified for a fixture?
State the measurement points on the drawing, such as connector mating faces or panel mounting surfaces. Include the required length of each branch and any routing allowance.
Q5: What should I send when ordering a prototype?
Send the selected SMA version, equipment mating reference, fixture drawing, cable lengths, channel assignment and quantity. Include panel dimensions when ordering the bulkhead female version.
