PCM-ZC-0221 MATEnet A Code to Z Code Automotive Ethernet Cable
The PCM-ZC-0221 MATEnet A-Code to Z-Code Automotive Ethernet Cable is a high-speed differential automotive cable assembly designed to provide physical interface adaptation between two MATEnet coding configurations.
Connector A uses the TE 1802105-1 sealable MATEnet A-Code female interface, while Connector B uses the TE 2302510-9 MATEnet Z-Code female interface. Both interfaces are connected through GG 2Speed 251 high-speed differential cable.
Unlike a conventional MATEnet extension cable, the primary purpose of this assembly is MATEnet coding adaptation between A-Code and Z-Code interfaces. It provides a direct cable path when one device uses an A-Code MATEnet interface while another device or test interface requires a Z-Code MATEnet connection, reducing additional adapters and intermediate cable assemblies.
The A-side 1802105-1 uses a waterproof and sealable connector architecture, making it suitable for connection areas where moisture, splash, dust, or other automotive environmental contaminants may be present.
The direct pin mapping is:
P1 Pin 1 → White → P2 Pin 1
P1 Pin 2 → Green → P2 Pin 2
Shield → GND → Shield

Product Features
MATEnet A-Code to Z-Code Architecture
Different MATEnet coding configurations on each end provide a direct physical connection between compatible A-Code and Z-Code device interfaces, simplifying prototype, ECU, and test-bench connectivity compared with using separate adapters.
Sealable A-Code Interface
The 1802105-1 side uses a sealable architecture, while the PCM-ZC-0221 drawing further identifies the interface as IP67 waterproof, making it suitable for automotive harness designs requiring enhanced environmental protection around the connection area.
100Ω Differential Architecture
The assembly is designed around a 100Ω differential signal path using GG 2Speed 251 cable with direct Pin 1-to-Pin 1, Pin 2-to-Pin 2, and Shield-to-Shield mapping for controlled high-speed link integration.
2m Pre-Assembled Automotive Data Cable
The 2000±20mm standard length balances in-vehicle routing and laboratory test requirements, while the pre-assembled connectors reduce field termination work for ECU development, vehicle prototypes, and HIL testing.
Core Application Scenarios
Core Performance Advantages
What is PCM-ZC-0221 designed for ?
It is primarily designed to provide cable-level connectivity between MATEnet A-Code and MATEnet Z-Code interfaces, using 1802105-1 on one end and 2302510-9 on the other.
Is A-Code to Z Code a protocol conversion ?
No. A Code and Z Code identify mechanical interface coding. PCM-ZC-0221 is a passive cable assembly without a PHY, switch, or protocol converter.
Can the cable length be customized ?
Yes. Cable length can be customized according to ECU, sensor, or test-equipment placement. Changes in length should be followed by evaluation of insertion loss, return loss, signal integrity, and the complete Automotive Ethernet link budget.
Can Z Code be replaced with another MATEnet coding ?
Other MATEnet coding versions can be developed according to the target device interface, but the exact P/N, coding, gender, and pin assignment must be confirmed first. Coding should never be selected or changed based on housing color alone.
