PCM-ZC-0225 MATEnet Z Code Automotive Ethernet Cable
PCM-ZC-0225 is a waterproof MATEnet Z-Code Female-to-MATEnet Z-Code Male automotive high-speed data extension/adaptor cable. P1 adopts the TE 1802105-9 MATEnet Z-Code Female hermetic connector; P2 is the TE 2302461-9 MATEnet Z-Code Male connector; the middle section uses GG 2Speed 251 high-speed differential cabling.
Compared to the Z-Code Female-to-Female harness, the most distinctive feature of this product is: the coding remains unchanged as Z-Code, but the gender is converted from Female to Male.
Therefore, it is essentially a:
Sealed Z-Code Female → Z-Code Male Automotive Ethernet Cable Assembly
The product belongs to a Passive Cable Assembly and does not inherently include PHYs, Ethernet switches, SerDes converters, or active protocol conversion chips.
● Provide Z-Code Female-to-Male Connectivity
When one device requires a MATEnet Z-Code female interface while another device or test interface requires Z-Code male connectivity, PCM-ZC-0225 provides direct gender adaptation without an additional male/female adapter.
● Connect a Sealed Vehicle Side to a Standard Equipment Side
The sealable 1802105-9 side can be positioned at a connection point more exposed to moisture, splash, or dust, while the 2m cable routes the data link to an ECU, gateway, or laboratory test device.
● Extend High-Speed Automotive Data Links
The standard 2000±20mm length increases the physical routing distance between ECUs, ADAS controllers, gateways, zonal controllers, and HIL equipment.
In a real automotive network, using connectors from the same MATEnet family does not automatically mean that two devices can connect directly.
Three differences may exist simultaneously.
◆ First, gender can differ. One side may require a female interface while the other requires a male interface.
◆ Second, environmental requirements can differ. Vehicle-side or sensor-area connections may require a sealable connector, while ECU, HIL, or bench-test interfaces may be located in protected environments.
◆ Third, physical distance exists between devices. A 1m, 2m, or longer automotive high-speed data cable may be required.
PCM-ZC-0225 therefore integrates:
TE 1802105-9 Sealable Z-Code Female → GG 2Speed 251 / 100Ω → Differential Cable → TE 2302461-9 Z-Code Male
into one pre-assembled cable assembly, reducing separate gender adapters, couplers, and temporary test cables.

Product Features
Z Code Female to Male Architecture
Both ends retain Z coding while using different genders, providing female-to-male connectivity in a single pre-assembled harness for automotive networks with matching coding but different mating interfaces.
Sealable 1802105-9 Interface
TE officially specifies Sealable = Yes for 1802105-9, together with Z coding, 100Ω impedance, and a 180° cable exit. The current PCM drawing further identifies this side as IP67 waterproof.
100Ω Differential Architecture
GG 2Speed 251 cable and direct Pin 1/Pin 2 mapping create a 100Ω differential path suitable for automotive high-speed data applications requiring controlled characteristic impedance.
2m Pre Assembled Cable
The standard 2000±20mm length supports vehicle prototypes, ECU development, test benches, and laboratory routing while reducing field crimping and temporary cable preparation.
Core Application Scenarios
Core Performance Advantages
What exactly is PCM-ZC-0225 ?
It is a waterproof/sealable MATEnet Z-Code female-to-MATEnet Z-Code male automotive high-speed data cable providing gender adaptation and approximately 2m of link extension.
Why is an adapter cable needed if both ends are Z Code ?
Because matching coding does not mean matching gender. PCM-ZC-0225 retains Z coding while connecting a female interface to a male interface and extending the physical distance between devices.
Does PCM-ZC-0225 convert Ethernet protocols ?
No. It is a passive cable assembly containing no PHY, switch, or protocol converter. Protocol and data-rate capability are determined by the connected devices and complete link.
Can 1m, 3m or 5m versions be customized ?
Yes. Different lengths can be developed according to ECU location, sensor placement, and vehicle routing. Changes in length should be followed by validation of insertion loss, return loss, signal integrity, and the complete link budget.
