Configuration
HSD 4 Pin Female to HSL 4 Pin Female Cable
Connection Structure: One straight HSD female connector connects by cable to one straight HSL female connector. Each end has four contact positions.
Unique Difference: This configuration combines two different connector formats while retaining female contacts at both ends. It is a cross interface assembly rather than an HSD extension with identical connector families.
Suitable Installation: Equipment and test connections with a corresponding HSD male interface at one point and an HSL male interface at the other. Selection requires confirmation of both mating interfaces and the complete wiring map.

Applications & Customer Value
Connecting Equipment with Different Interface Formats
A multimedia module and its associated wiring may use different connector families. This assembly accommodates the interface difference without requiring the equipment connector to be replaced.
Bringing a Test Connection to the Required Location
The equipment connection may be separated from a fixture or accessible test point. Length selection allows the cable route to account for equipment placement, fastening positions and operator access.
Replacing Temporary Adapter Chains
Development setups sometimes use several intermediate leads to connect unlike interfaces. Where the required mapping is established, a specified HSD to HSL assembly can consolidate that connection into one harness.
Recording Repeatable Fixture Wiring
A documented contact map gives engineering and purchasing teams a consistent assembly definition. Repeat orders can reference the same mating details, length and wiring revision rather than relying on connector appearance.
Product Features
Distinct HSD and HSL Mating Faces
The HSD end has a circular front opening within its water blue housing. The HSL end has a rectangular mating face with four square contact openings. These different geometries identify the two connection ends.
Separate Housing Latch Structures
Each connector has its own housing latch arrangement. Connection and removal require access to the relevant release feature, particularly when the harness is routed close to surrounding equipment.
Straight Rear Cable Entries
The cable exits directly from the rear of both connectors. Routing space should adequately accommodate the required cable bend behind each housing rather than forcing a sharp turn at the termination.
Enclosed HSL Contact Insert
The HSL end contains a black four-position contact insert within a beige outer housing and visible metal shell sections. The rear body securely encloses the transition to the black cable jacket.
Customization Capabilities
Premier Cable supports:
Mating Connector and Housing Review
Connector type, gender, coding and housing design requirements can be reviewed against equipment drawings or mating samples. Exact references are agreed before a production specification is released.
Cable Length and Construction Selection
Length, jacket, shielding and cable structure can be specified for the routing and signal requirements. Cable selection is reviewed together with the termination requirements of both connector types.
Contact Mapping and Electrical Definition
Pin assignment and wiring definitions can establish the connection between HSD and HSL positions. Circuit configuration, resistance value and power rating requests require engineering feasibility review.
OEM Samples and Production
Drawing review, prototype preparation and mass production can follow the approved assembly definition. Labels, product identification and packaging can include the required wiring revision and purchasing reference.
Product FAQ
Q1: Is this an HSD extension cable?
It is an adapter cable between HSD and HSL interfaces. An extension with the same connector family at both ends has a different connection structure.
Q2: Do four contacts at each end mean the wiring is automatically identical?
No. Contact count does not establish contact mapping. The required connection must be defined using numbered positions and connector viewing directions.
Q3: Can it convert an LVDS signal into another video format?
The connector combination does not establish signal conversion capability. Confirm that the connected equipment uses compatible signals and that the harness wiring meets the system requirements.
Q4: Can a longer version be selected without checking the signal path?
Cable length must be assessed against the complete system requirements. Consider the connected equipment, signal characteristics and any additional connections in the path.
Q5: What information is needed to reproduce an existing assembly?
Send both mating connector references, a wiring diagram or approved sample, the required length and order quantity. Include any label and revision identification requirements.
