MATE-AX Dual Male Cable with Grouped and Single Connector Options

This dual-channel coaxial cable series utilizes a MATE-AX dual-cavity male connector at the common end. Three available configurations support connections between female interfaces, extended connections from a bundled male to female interface, or independent single cavity connections.

The chosen configuration determines the direction of the connection and how the two paths are handled at the destination. A bundled configuration keeps the two paths together, whereas an independent connector configuration allows for separate routing and disconnection.

Available Configurations

1 1
Version 1

MATE-AX Dual Male to Dual Male Cable

Connection Structure

Two coaxial paths connect the 2306498-9 dual-male interfaces located at either end.

Unique Features

Both ends feature an identical male-interface mating configuration and support ganged (grouped) assembly.

Application Scenarios

Designed for interconnecting two compatible MATE-AX dual-female interfaces along the same cable path.

Version 2

MATE-AX Dual Male to Dual Female Cable

Connection Structure

The 2306498-9 dual-male connector mates with the 2-2306868-9 dual-female connector shown in the illustration.

Unique Difference

This male to female mating creates an in-line extension, allowing the two signal paths to be extended without requiring them to be separated.

Suitable Installation

Suitable for relocating grouped connections from a constrained space within a device to another location; provided that the connector interfaces and channel mappings are verified beforehand.

Version 3

MATE-AX Dual Male to Two Single Male Cable

Connection Structure

A dual-male interface connects to two separate MATE-AX male terminals via two coaxial cables.

Unique Difference

Each connection end features its own connector housing, allowing for independent operation.

Suitable Installation

Suitable for connecting to two corresponding single-female interfaces located on different devices or at different connection points.

Applications & Customer Value

Connecting devices with female ports

When both device ports are female, a "male to male" configuration can be used. This approach not only achieves the required connection orientation but also integrates two separate paths into a single component.

Relocating connection points for easier access

Ports located behind a bracket or enclosure are often difficult to reach. By adding an extension component, you can shift the detachable connection point to a location that facilitates installation and maintenance.

Routing to different destinations

Two peripheral connection points may require different routing paths. By configuring separate branch dimensions, the component can be routed to align with these specific locations, eliminating the need to force both connection points into the same area.

Adhering to established connection schemes

During installation, similar coaxial lines can easily be confused. Maintaining a clear layout diagram and labeling the cables ensures that every connection point complies with the device's specified routing scheme.

Product Features

01

Two Position Male Housing

This universal connector integrates two coaxial positions within the 2306498-9 housing. During the mating process, both positions are engaged simultaneously.

02

Straight Cable Exit Configuration

As shown, these connectors route cables away from the rear of the enclosure. When routing cables, ensure sufficient space for bending behind each termination point.

03

Distinct Destination Handling

The modular configuration employs a single target housing. Version 3, by contrast, uses two housings, which alters the connection sequence and the required operating space.

04

Nonsealed Common Interface

This general-purpose enclosure is not sealable. During installation, it must be placed in a protected location or provided with an appropriate surrounding enclosure.

Customization Capabilities

Premier Cable provides the following support:

Connector Selection and Housing Design

We evaluate connector types, male and female specifications, keying or coding configurations, and housing designs based on the equipment to be connected. Specific model references and requirements for sourcing original manufacturer components are documented in an approved Bill of Materials (BOM).

Cable Length and Routing Planning

We determine total cable lengths, dimensions for individual branches, as well as specifications for jackets, shielding, and overall cable construction. We also assess various cable options and define the specific contact and termination requirements.

Electrical Mapping and Circuit Requirements

Through pin assignments and wiring definitions, we establish the mapping between each connection point and its corresponding terminal. Circuit configurations, resistance values, power ratings, and other parameters are subject to formal engineering validation.

OEM Development and Production

Premier Cable offers support for drawing reviews, prototype assembly, and mass production. Cable labeling, connection identification, and packaging solutions can be customized to meet specific installation instructions and incoming quality inspection (IQC) requirements.

Product FAQ

Q1: Does the dual-branch version split a single radio frequency (RF) input into two outputs ?

No. It contains two independent coaxial paths and does not perform RF power splitting.

Q2: Is the male to female version automatically wired straight through ?

Channel mapping must be explicitly defined in an approved wiring diagram; the wiring configuration cannot be determined solely by the male/female connector types.

Q3: Can the single cavity ends be selected by housing color ?

No. Before making a selection, always verify the complete product model number, part code, and mating geometry.

Q4: Does the RTK031 text in the image establish the supplied cable type ?

No. As noted elsewhere in the image, the default cable type is RG174. If a different cable type is required, it must be specified in the assembly requirements.

Q5: What information is needed for a custom quotation ?
Please provide the version details, mating references, required dimensions, channel mapping, electrical specifications, component sourcing preferences, and quantity.
