Product Description
MS3106E16-10P to MS3106E16-10S Cable Assembly is a custom 3-contact wiring harness designed for power, control and general electrical connections in industrial machinery, test equipment, ground-support systems and OEM equipment.
The assembly features an MS3106E16-10P straight plug with three pin contacts on one end and an MS3106E16-10S straight plug with three socket contacts on the other. Both connectors use shell size 16 and the 16-10 insert arrangement with three size 12 electrical contacts.
The E-class connector construction is intended for applications requiring improved resistance to moisture, vibration and demanding operating environments. The threaded coupling provides secure mechanical engagement, while the polarized keyway supports correct alignment during installation.
The cable assembly can be manufactured with straight-through wiring or a customer-specified pinout. Cable length, conductor size, shielding, jacket material, jacket color, labeling, heat-shrink tubing and protective sleeving can be customized according to the customer's drawing, pinout table or existing cable sample.
Each finished cable assembly is inspected and electrically tested for continuity, open circuits, short circuits and incorrect wiring before shipment.

Class E vs Class A
| Feature | Class E | Class A |
| Typical construction | Environmental-resistant connector construction | General-purpose connector construction |
| Environmental protection | Improved resistance to moisture and demanding environments | Depends more heavily on backshell and external cable sealing |
| Coupling style | Threaded coupling | Threaded coupling |
| Typical applications | Outdoor, mobile, ground-support and harsh industrial equipment | Indoor industrial and general equipment connections |
| Final sealing performance | Depends on connector supplier, cable diameter, assembly method and mating condition | Depends on backshell, cable entry protection and assembly method |
Important: Class E identifies an environmental connector construction, but it does not automatically define the IP rating of the complete cable assembly. Final ingress protection depends on the connector manufacturer, cable seal, cable outside diameter, assembly process and fully mated condition.

Important Mating Information
Both cable ends use the MS3106E straight-plug body style. The P and S suffixes identify the contact type-pin or socket-and do not indicate different connector body styles.
The two cable-end connectors normally do not connect directly to each other. They are intended to mate with compatible equipment receptacles using shell size 16, the 16-10 insert arrangement, the correct contact type and the correct keyway position.
Please provide the mating connector part numbers or clear connector photos before production if compatibility has not already been confirmed.
FAQ
Q: How do I read the part number MS3106E16-10P?
A: MS3106 identifies a straight plug, E identifies the environmental service class, 16 is the shell size, 10 identifies the 16-10 insert arrangement, and P indicates pin contacts. The S version uses socket contacts.
Q: How many contacts does the 16-10 arrangement have?
A: The 16-10 insert arrangement contains three size 12 electrical contacts.
Q: Can this cable carry 23 A per contact?
A: Size 12 contacts have a typical reference rating of up to 23 A. The allowable current of the finished assembly must also consider wire gauge, cable construction, ambient temperature, duty cycle, bundle size and acceptable temperature rise.
Q: Is the finished cable assembly waterproof?
A: The E-class connector is designed for improved environmental resistance. However, the complete assembly's sealing performance depends on the connector supplier, cable diameter, backshell or cable seal, assembly process and fully mated condition. Please specify the required IP rating before ordering.
Q: Can the wiring configuration be customized?
A: Yes. Straight-through, crossover and customer-defined pin assignments can be manufactured according to your drawing or pinout table.
Q: Can you manufacture a replacement for an existing cable?
A: Yes. Please send the original cable part number, connector photos, overall length, wiring information and electrical requirements for confirmation.
