This NMEA 2000 DeviceNet adapter cable features an M12-to-7/8″ 5-pin interface configuration. Classified as a DVN Trunk-to-Drop adapter cable, the PCM-S-0399 facilitates the conversion from a Mini-change interface to a Micro-change interface. In accordance with DeviceNet and NMEA 2000 standards, these cables are primarily categorized into two distinct specifications.

The larger specification is designated as the Trunk line (or "Thick" cable), boasting a rated current-carrying capacity of up to 8 amperes. The smaller specification is designated as the Drop line (or "Micro Drop"/"Thin" cable); utilizing an M12 5-pin connector, it offers a rated current-carrying capacity of up to 3 amperes. On large vessels, Mini Trunk lines typically serve as the main backbone or central artery of the NMEA 2000 marine network, while Micro Drop lines are employed to interconnect the network backbone with various individual components. Conversely, on smaller vessels, the entire network system is frequently constructed exclusively using Micro Drop lines and their associated connectors.
