ECT to MATEnet Cable Architecture

Grouped ECT Connection Boundary
The ECT 818027177 end collects four two contact interfaces into a square arrangement within one housing. A common top latch forms the grouped mating mechanism, while four cables leave the rear body. This end establishes the boundary between the equipment connection and the distributed harness, keeping the four channel positions together where the assembly meets its corresponding ECT interface.
Separate MATEnet Mating Bodies
Each remote cable terminates in a TE 2302461-9 MATEnet Z Code plug. The plugs have rectangular front openings and their own housing geometry, visibly different from the small contact faces at the ECT end. Four separate mating bodies allow the MATEnet connections to occupy different locations, so their spacing follows the equipment layout rather than the fixed arrangement of the ECT connector.

Sleeved MATEnet Cable Transitions
The drawing specifies one black double wall heat shrink sleeve at each MATEnet termination, with a sleeve length of 20 mm. These four localized sections cover the cable transition behind the plug bodies while leaving the main cable runs separate. The construction concentrates the added sleeving at the termination areas without introducing a shared outer sleeve or a central junction enclosure.
Applications & Customer Value
Mixed Interface Development Rigs
Bridges the required ECT and MATEnet connection formats within one harness, simplifying setup when development equipment uses different interfaces.
Distributed MATEnet Connection Points
Reaches separately positioned mating connectors without requiring them to share the spacing of the grouped equipment interface.
Channel Correlation Fixtures
The defined contact mapping gives engineers a reference for assigning each remote connection to its intended test position.
Harness Integration Projects
Combines interface adaptation and branch routing in a drawing controlled assembly, reducing the need to organize separate adapter sections during installation.
Product Features
ECT 818027177 to TE 2302461-9
The connector combination joins an ECT Z Code female interface with four MATEnet Z Code male interfaces. Both references are specified for mating review and material control.
Four Assigned Contact Paths
ECT pins 1 and 2 connect to P2, pins 3 and 4 to P3, pins 5 and 6 to P4, and pins 7 and 8 to P5. White and green conductors identify the two connections within each path.
Shell Ground Terminations
Each branch includes a corresponding shell ground connection in the wiring diagram. These paths form part of the required termination definition alongside the contact wiring.
Documented Build Verification
The specified ECT cable and drawing requirements establish the production reference. Inspection includes continuity testing, dielectric withstand and cable retention checks.
Customization Capabilities
Premier Cable supports:
Connector Customization
Review connector type, gender, coding and housing design around the required equipment interfaces.
Cable Customization
Define length, branch layout, jacket, shielding and cable structure from installation dimensions.
Electrical Customization
Develop pin assignment, wiring definition and circuit configuration. Evaluate resistance value and power rating requirements where applicable.
OEM Manufacturing
Support drawing review, prototypes, mass production, channel labels and packaging against approved project requirements.
Product FAQ
Q1. Is this a MATEnet splitter or an interface adapter harness?
It combines interface adaptation with breakout wiring. The grouped connector uses the ECT system, while the remote ends use MATEnet plugs.
Q2. Does Z Code make the ECT and MATEnet ends interchangeable?
No. Coding applies within the respective connector system. The mating geometry and corresponding part references must be checked separately.
Q3. Can this harness be used for a specific automotive Ethernet link?
That requires confirmation of the equipment interfaces, protocol requirements and complete channel performance. The connector combination alone does not establish compatibility.
Q4. Do the double wall sleeves establish a waterproof rating?
No waterproof rating is confirmed in the supplied drawing. Sleeving construction alone is insufficient to assign a protection rating to the connectors or assembly.
Q5. What needs confirmation before a production quotation?
Confirm the Premier Cable product number, mating references, routing dimensions, pin assignment, ground connections and quantity. Include any project specific inspection and identification requirements.
