Automotive Ethernet Harnesses for ECU and Equipment Connections
ECT Ethernet harnesses can be configured for connections between compatible control modules, gateways, domain controllers and development equipment.
The required structure depends on whether the equipment presents a single-port interface or groups several channels in one housing.
Single-Port Connections and Extension Cables
Single-port ECT assemblies address direct connections and harness extensions. Male and female terminations are selected around the equipment interfaces, while cable length follows the required routing.
These assemblies can support development fixtures and equipment layouts where the original cable cannot reach the intended connection point.
Premier Cable's ECT Z Code extension cable is one example. Other lengths and termination arrangements can be discussed against the project specification.
Confirm the mating interfaces, pin assignment and complete channel length when specifying an extension for an existing Ethernet link.

Multi-Channel Breakout Harnesses
A grouped connector can route several independent Ethernet channels to separately positioned devices or test points.
Premier Cable's existing ECT range includes four-channel assemblies with individual male or female branch ends. Configurations use the ECT 818027177 unsealed grouped interface or the ECT 818018063 sealed grouped interface, according to the required connection arrangement.
Branch lengths, channel labels and routing dimensions can follow the equipment layout. Each branch carries its assigned channel rather than duplicating a single Ethernet signal.
These examples illustrate current configurations. Other channel arrangements are subject to connector availability and engineering review.
| Grouped Interface | Branch Termination Options | Example Products |
|---|---|---|
| ECT 818027177 | Individual ECT male ends | Four-channel to four male breakout cable |
| ECT 818027177 | Individual ECT female ends | Four-channel to four female breakout cable |
| ECT 818018063 | Individual ECT male ends | Sealed grouped interface to four male cable |
| ECT 818018063 | Individual ECT female ends | Sealed grouped interface four-channel breakout cable |
ECT to Rosenberger H-MTD and TE MATEnet
Mixed connector harnesses address equipment that uses different physical interfaces at each end.
Premier Cable's published examples include an ECT 818018609 to Rosenberger H-MTD E6S10A-1CAZ5-Z cable and an ECT 818027177 to four TE MATEnet 2302461-9 cable.
These structures combine interface adaptation with the required cable routing. They can be considered for ECU integration, gateway connections, development benches and automotive network fixtures.
Confirm the pin assignment, grounding, target protocol and complete channel requirements. Matching the connector combination alone does not establish Ethernet compatibility. A passive cable does not perform protocol conversion.

Mini FAKRA Coaxial Harnesses for Camera and RF Applications
Coaxial harnesses address camera, video and RF connections where the equipment specifies a Mini FAKRA interface. Premier Cable accepts custom assemblies using the ECT four-cavity connector series across five coding options:
| Coding | Housing Color | ECT Connector Part Number |
|---|---|---|
| A | Black | 818018733 |
| B | White | 818018734 |
| C | Blue | 818018735 |
| D | Bordeaux Violet | 818018736 |
| Z | Water Blue | 818018737 |
The coding and part number should match the specified mating interface. Branch connectors are selected separately for the devices or instruments at the opposite end.

Mini FAKRA to FAKRA, HFM and MATE-AX
Four-channel coaxial assemblies can connect a grouped ECT Mini FAKRA interface to individual FAKRA, Rosenberger HFM or TE MATE-AX terminations.
Different branch lengths can accommodate camera positions or equipment spacing. Straight and right-angle terminations can be considered where connector access and bend clearance affect installation.
Available configurations include sealed and unsealed remote connector options, depending on the selected series and part number.
Specify the coding, mating references and coaxial channel mapping at every end. Housing color alone is insufficient to confirm the complete connection arrangement.
Mini FAKRA to SMA Test Cables
SMA terminations give engineers access to individual coaxial channels for instrument connections and fixture wiring.
Premier Cable's ECT Mini FAKRA to SMA cable 818018737 illustrates this arrangement. Cable-mounted male and bulkhead female SMA options can be specified according to the test setup.
For panel fixtures, include the mounting requirements and branch identification. For signal testing, include the operating bandwidth, impedance and any electrical performance limits.
Where power shares the coaxial connection, include the power-over-coax requirements so the complete assembly can be reviewed.

Customization Around the Complete Assembly
Ethernet and coaxial harnesses require different cable constructions, but both benefit from a clear build specification.

Premier Cable supports project discussions covering:
Connector series, part numbers, gender and coding.
Overall cable length and individual branch lengths.
Ethernet pin assignment or coaxial channel mapping.
Cable model, jacket and shielding requirements.
Straight, right-angle and bulkhead terminations.
Channel labels, sleeves and branch organization.
Environmental sealing at the required connections.
Sample builds and production quantities.
A sealed connector at one end does not establish a waterproof rating for the entire harness. Identify which connections require protection so the complete configuration can be reviewed.
From an Existing Product to Your Required Configuration
An existing cable page can be used as a reference even when the final assembly needs changes. For example, a four-channel harness may need unequal branches, another connector at one remote end, or labels that match a test fixture. A coaxial assembly may require a different Mini FAKRA coding or SMA mounting arrangement.
Send the reference product link together with the changes required. Where a new connector combination is involved, include the mating drawings and signal requirements for review.
