RS232 to RS485 RS422 Serial Converter Description

The RS232 to RS-422/485 serial converter is a bidirectional adapter that allows you to adapt RS232 data signals to RS485 (2-wire or 4-wire) or RS422 and vice versa.

RS232 and RS485/422 terminal blocks are detachable

It converts RS232 signals to half-duplex RS-485 balanced differential signals and RS-422 full-duplex signals. Supports baud rates up to 115.2 Kbps. The adapter supports automatic baud rate detection as well as RS-422 and RS485 mode detection and supports connection distances up to 4000 feet (1200 meters).

Port-powered RS232 to RS485 / RS422 converter characteristics

Converts RS232 signals to half-duplex RS-485 balanced differential signals and RS-422 full-duplex signals.

The RS232 to RS-485 / RS-422 converter uses an internal amplifier to derive power from RS232 signals (RTS, DTR, TXD) without initializing the RS232 interface. If the RS232 port cannot provide enough power, an external power supply can be easily connected to the converter terminal connector.

Zero-delay transmission and advanced I/O control automatically control data flow direction.

Built-in auto-sensing function automatically selects RS-485 or RS-422 mode according to the connected signal, without jumpers.

Supports 2-wire RS485 and 4-wire RS422 communications up to 300 - 115200bps.
