Plug-to-Jack HFM Extension Cable
The AMK14K-1M4Z5-Z to AMS14D-1M4Z5-Z cable assembly is a four-port HFM Mini FAKRA Z-code extension cable designed to extend or reposition an existing automotive coaxial connection. One end uses a Rosenberger AMK14K-1M4Z5-Z jack, while the opposite end uses an AMS14D-1M4Z5-Z plug.
Unlike a jack-to-jack equipment interconnect, this complementary plug-to-jack configuration can be inserted into an existing compatible HFM link without changing the connector family or the four individual coaxial signal paths. It is suitable for prototype integration, module relocation, test access, service work and harness-routing adjustments.
The standard assembly uses LEONI DACAR 302-4 automotive coaxial cable and provides four straight-through 50-ohm channels. Standard lengths are 0.5 m, 1 m and 2 m, with custom lengths available after confirmation of the complete link and application requirements.

Both ends contain four separate coaxial interfaces. This product should therefore be described as a four-port or four-channel coaxial cable assembly rather than a conventional four-pin electrical cable.
When an HFM Extension Cable Is Required
A plug-to-jack extension cable can be used when the original HFM connection does not provide sufficient routing length or when a connected module must be moved without replacing the complete vehicle or equipment harness.

Straight-Through Channel Continuity
The standard PCM-ZC-0196 construction maintains direct channel continuity between the jack and plug interfaces. Each coaxial center conductor and its corresponding shield are routed independently through the extension.

The cavity positions appear mirrored when the mating faces of the plug and jack are viewed from the front. Production and inspection must follow the numbered connector cavities and approved drawing rather than visual left-to-right position alone.

Length Selection and Installation
Extension length should be limited to the distance required by the installation. Adding cable and an additional mated connector pair changes the complete transmission path and may affect insertion loss, return loss and available signal margin at higher frequencies.
