The main difference between MDR 20 pin and MDR 26 pin is that the MDR 26 pin replaced the DB-15 connector and became the standard GPI connector for new servers:

1. MDR 20 pin
Can be used for cable mounting and I/O applications. The male connector has a plastic housing to protect it from damage and dirt.

2. MDR 26 pin
Replaced the DB-15 connector and became the standard GPI connector for new servers.

MDR stands for Mini Delta Ribbon, and is a half pitch interconnect system from 3M. MDR connectors are a common type of electrical connector used in computer and telecommunications equipment. They are general-purpose connectors and are a viable solution in many machine vision systems.
